Ambode charges Nigerians on unity

Lagos State Governor, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode has charged Nigerians to continue to explore the opportunities provided by the country’s diverse human and natural resource potentials with sincerity and unity of purpose, stressing that for Nigeria to be great, the citizens must be united and support government policies, especially when it concerns their welfare, rule of law and general improvement of standard of living.

The Governor, who gave the charge at the special Jumat Service to commemorate the 55th Independence Anniversary of Nigeria last Friday at the Secretariat Mosque, Alausa, enjoined all Muslims to continue to pray for peace and prosperity in the country.

Mr. Ambode, who was represented at the Jumat prayer by Mrs. Folashade Jaji, the Lagos State Head of Service, implored all Nigerians to be law abiding citizens and support one another in each individual endeavours, adding that it is with the necessary cooperation that we can develop and move the nation to attain its glorious height.

Similarly, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Home Affairs, Mrs. Grace Ebun Oladimeji, who represented the Governor at an interdenominational church service held at the Chapel of Christ The Light, Alausa, Ikeja recently tasked Nigerians to see themselves as change agents in whatever position they may be so that the country can be collectively restored to its past glory.

According to her, “we must continue to improve in everything we do as well as have the belief that the country will be better”.

Among the dignitaries in attendance at both the Jumat Service and interdenominational church service were; Permanent Secretaries; top government officials, members of the Committee of Wives of Lagos State Officials (COWLSO); Representatives of Iya-Oloja General and School Children.
