Lagos State Governor Akinwunmi Ambode says his administration will provide financial facilities and capacity building programmes that will make women self reliant.
Governor Ambose said Lagos had a female population of over eleven million and thirty percent of the state’s labour force , adding that in view of this, government will continue to create more platforms for women engagement.
He said since women played an important role in government, policies to protect them have been put in place.
Governor Ambode reiterated his commitment to uphold the rule of law and ensure the law against domestic violence, abuse, particularly rape against teenage girls are enforced.
She commended her predecessors for a job well done.
He said the government was implementing comprehensive revitalisation of the public health care system with a view to providing free maternal health care in various communities in the state.
