Lagos Water Corporation has appealed to the general public over the discomfort and inconveniences presently being experienced due to the disruption of water supply in some parts of Lagos metropolis.

A statement issued today by the Corporation, noted that the disruption of water supply is due to shortage of gas in its Independent Power Plant (IPP) at Akute Intake and other water power plants as a result of current vandalization of gas pipelines in the Niger Delta Region of the Country.

While noting that the shortage of gas has adversely affected the production at its various water facilities across the State, it maintained that the Corporation is currently working relentlessly on an alternative power supply for its Waterworks.

The statement therefore assured the public of the Corporation’s commitment to providing uninterrupted water supply soon and urged them to bear with her as the problem will soon be rectified.
