Passengers meant to fly with Arik Air to Johannesburg since 24th November 2013 by 10:45pm, have been delayed and held hostage at the Muritala Mohammed International Airport Lagos.
The flight was initially rescheduled to 12noon 25th November but was later announced to be delayed. Passengers were served snacks in a communion form made of cake and a cup of juice.
Subsequently, the delayed became indefinite as passengers got angry at the non-chalant attitude of the airline management.
As at the time of filing in this report, it was a shouting march as angered passengers demanded a refund or cancellation as they have been held hostage.
A staff of the Federal Aviation Authority of Nigeria FAAN, Mr. B.C. Iwuchukwu said the flight will leave in two hours time. Though there are rumors the flight meant to carry the passengers is not in good condition as engineers are battling to repair the plane.
Some passengers are afraid the plane might not be in a good condition to fly.Earlier in the day a London bound flight was also delayed for over three hours.
Our correspondent was almost attacked by a FAAN Staff for taken pictures of the situation at the airport.
