Transition Monitoring Group, TMG, has deployed over two hundred observers to monitor the Bayelsa and Kogi States’ Gubernatorial Elections.

The chairman of the Group, Comrade Ibrahim Zikirullahi made this known today at a press conference in Abuja.

Zikirullahi said that the TMG quick count election observation, which was used to verify the 2015 presidential election would also be used for the coming state elections.

He noted that observers were already in the two states, observing the pre-election period within the context of early warning for violence prevention, stressing that the TMG quick count was to detect electoral fraud and ensure that the people’s votecounted.

The TMG boss, Ibrahim Zikirullahi also called on all political parties to subject their candidates to Directorate of State Security checks, and to drop anyone that failed the scrutiny.
