DFID seek better relations between the organisation and Lagos

Lagos State government says it will harness every development and economic opportunities to scale up community governance.

Governor Akinwunmi Ambode said this when a delegation of Department of International Development, DFID, led by its country representative, Ben Mellor paid him a courtesy visit at the Lagos House, Alausa, Ikeja.

Ambode, who promised to work together with the organisation for the benefit of the people said the state had a development plan running from 2012 to 2025 which was cornered around four different pillars.

The Governor said he was aware that the DFID had programme is in terms of health, education and governance, saying he believed government should bring governance back to the people.

According to him, government should be able to carry the people along by explaining to them  its activities regarding  adding value to their lives.

Speaking earlier, the DFID country Director, said the purpose of the visit was to discuss how to strengthen relations between the organisation and the state.
