Empowerment for the Less Privileged Foundation, – a non-governmental organisation committed to alleviating the plight of the less-privileged in the society is graduating 256 successful graduates in her 7th Graduation Ceremony and Entrepreneurship Seminar.

In the last seven years, the Foundation has trained over 3,500 youths in various entrepreneurial skills such as bead making, catering, computer training, fashion designing, hair barbing, hair dressing, hat making, metal works and soap making in partnership with Cakasa Nigeria Limited.

It has offered 51 scholarships to brilliant but indigent students in the society, and over 2,500 students have received free tutorials from various Centers spread across Lagos State with over 2,500 people benefited from the Foundation free medical outreach programmes.

The Foundation that was founded by Dr. Mike Okonkwo has the mandate to offer free skill acquisition training to underprivileged youths in our society, provide scholarships for brilliant but indigent students in tertiary institutions that include free tutorials for students preparing for their O’Level and A’Level examinations and donation of medical equipment to government established hospitals, among others.

The graduation that is scheduled to hold on Saturday, November 12, 2016 at Yaba College of Technology Alumni Hall by 11:00 am will Ndidi O. Nwuneli (MFR) as the guest speaker, Adewunmi Ogunsanya as the Chairman of the day and Her Excellency, First Lady of Lagos State, Mrs. Bolanle Ambode as the Special Guest of Honour.

ELP Foundation is a non-governmental organisation committed to alleviating the plight of the less-privileged in the society through donations to hospitals, establishment of free vocational training centres, running free preparatory schools for students in the secondary schools, and facilitating regular public enlightenment campaigns on health issues amongst others. It also pioneers a scholarship fund for talented students.
