The Department of Petroleum Resources, DPR, has sanctioned eighty-seven erring marketers over various offences in Lagos and environs.
A statement signed by DPR management says, sixty-seven retail outlets, operating without storage and sale licences or approval to construct a filling station, have also been clamped down from August to date.
The statement says the inspections of retail outlets of the downstream sector would be a routine activity carried out daily in order to ensure compliance to basic regulations and the continuous availability of products to consumers at official prices.
The Lagos zone operations covers Ogun, Oyo, Ondo, Kwara and Lagos states.
