Estimation of bills by Electricity Distribution Companies fraudulent – Olugbenga

Lagos State Secretary of the National Union of Electricity Employees, Comrade Eric Olugbenga has described as fraudulent the estimation of bills by the Electricity Distribution Companies in the Country.

Speaking on an Eko Fm programme in Ikeja, Olugbenga said that the various distribution companies did not know the actual electricity consumed by consumers and resort to estimating bills usually higher than the actual electricity consumed by Nigerians.

He also called for the abolition of service charge believing it would make investors in electricity serious with their business.

Olugbenga explained that the investors were only interested in recooping theirr money adding that if they were really sincere pre – paid metres would have been given to all Nigerians.

Speaking on  performance, Olugbenga said that they had not achieved anything meaningful.

He urged President Muhammadu Buhari to appoint a seasoned Engineer as Minister of Power.
