Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Centre for Values and Leadership (CVL), Nigeria, Professor Pat Utomi has described values as determinants of human progress.
Utomi stated this at the CVL Role model forum in Lagos that values and good leadership examples crystallize into societal norms.
Also speaking at the forum, the Group Chief Executive Officer of United Capital PLC Oluwatoyin Sanni laid emphasis on the importance of the values of service, industry, discipline, humility, authenticity and integrity.
She encouraged participants at the event to learn and consolidate only on good practices as she always use her life experience as a worthy example in motivating young people.
Another role model at the forum, the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of Asset Management Corporation of Nigeria (AMCON) Ahmed Kuru in a lighthearted manner identified integrity and hard work as common denominators in life as he urged that destiny, luck and hardwork should not be downplayed by anyone.
He further extolled the values of simplicity, integrity, authenticity and community service which he learnt from his father and his immediate community.
Kuru mentioned that no amount of regulations can change an already cunning individual but that individual should know what he represents.
The CVL Role Model Forum is a bi-monthly interactive forum that feature two CEOs to showcase their experiences and what values they have imbibed that enabled them overcome the obstacles on their way to success.
It is one of the programs of the Centre for Values and Leadership with the focus of helping students and young professionals shape their paths for greatness in life.
