- Advertisment -

Leader of the Oodua Paople’s Congress and Founder of Gani Adams foundation, GAF, Otunba Gani Adams has described the World Humanitarian Day observed today as a day to honour all humanitarians who continue to work in the area of promoting humanitarian causes, and those who lost their lives in the cause of duty.

Gani Adams stated this in an address to commemorate this year’s theme: ”Improving the living conditions of the poor, the less privileged and physically challenged during crises in Nigeria.”

Adams noted that the foundation was informed by the need to assist the indigent, the poor and oppressed members of the society to reduce burden imposed on them.

He said the foundation had visited institutions like the Pascelli School for the Blind Surulere and federal Nigeria society for the Blind to comfort the visually impaired.

Also speaking, a professor of public sector Economic Development programme at the university Republic of Benin, Alfred Akpavirie urged the federal Government to look into other areas of resource development to help alleviate the living standards of the people.

Food items, clothes and cash worth five hundred thousand were donated through the foundation.
