As part of effort to enhance and improve business registration in Nigeria, Growth and Employment in States (GEMS), a United Kingdom Aid (UKAID) and World Bank funded project is partnering with Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) to fastrack and streamline business registration among business owners in the country.
The registration that will be online is to promote the benefits of formalization to increase business registrations in Nigeria, creating awareness of regulatory reforms that make it easier, faster and cheaper to register a business in Nigeria and to increasing new company registration by at least 6% by June.
The First phase of the campaign visits Kaduna, Kano, Cross River and Lagos while the second phase is scheduled to begin in May and also be held in four states
In view of this, business owners, entrepreneurs, and key stakeholders are to gather at Niger Palace Hotel, Yaba by 9.00am where the campaign plan will be rolled out.
The Register-General/CEO of CAC, Bello Mahmud, , Obinali Egele, Team Leader of GEMS3 and Yemisi Joel-Osebor, the State Manager GEMS3, will be present for the kick off the campaign.
The public meeting event will be followed by a GEMS3-CAC visit to Yaba, Tejusho and Oyingbo markets to sensitise traders on the benefits of formalisation and offer an opportunity for them to register and get their certificates within 24 hours.
