The seminar was opened at Aminu Kano Community College to advocate the “Declaration of Peace and Cessation of War” which was proclaimed on March 14th in South Korea and to request the implementation of the International Law with twelve youth groups and three journalists. About 170 Nigerian people participated and also the Kano special adviser joined this event.

The program at the seminar include watching the HWPL peace tour video, explaining the ‘Declaration of Peace and Cessation of War’ and having the Launching Ceremony of the HWPL Peace Advocacy Committee for the implementation of the International Law.’

‘Declaration of Peace and Cessation of War’ and preamble consist of ten articles, thirty eights clauses. From prestigious HWPL International Law Peace Committee’s spontaneous participation, it defend peace, justice, and freedom. And it emphasizes and enforce basic criteria which all the nations should abide by in terms of terminating war. In addition, it has a distinction, compared to the other declarations in point of ensuring religious freedom and spreading a culture of peace.

A member of the HWPL Peace Advocacy Committee, AbdulAziz Seymour Omololu (Patriotic Youth Organization of Nigeria, President) said that “My impression after the Ceremony of HWPL Peace Advocacy Committee is looking beyond Kano. I now see myself as one that is entrusted with the responsibility as PEACE AMBASSADOR. I am humbled! And with this trust on me, I will work harder to see to the needed Peace, not only in Kano, Nigeria or Africa, but the World. I want to be globally recognized as a Peace Ambassador. We are mobilizing youths to log on and sign it.

The host group, IPYG expressed that “Signature Campaign in Support of the Declaration of Peace and Cessation of War is very essential and improving public’s perception concerning peace by education is also crucial. Therefore, we will open durational seminars on actual peace activities like this for the community people in Nigeria. And we really hope Launching of the HWPL Peace Advocacy Committee is a catalyst which can motivate youth and women throughout the country.

And IPYG is performing the 3rd Annual Commemoration of the Declaration of World Peace and the Peace Walk and going to catch an eye of the globe to demand support of people from all social strata.
