Ikorodu youths clash with naval officers, security agents

Lagos: Reports say youths in Majidun area of Ikorodu local government today clashed with Naval Officers and some security agents over the invasion of Majidun community.

Trouble started yesterday following the shooting of three youths by Security men stationed at Majidun to curb the menace of bunkering of petrol in the area.

The youths numbering over 500 trooped out enmasse to protest the shooting and invasion of the area by security agents.

According to the youths the security agents had been in the area for over one year to curb illegal oil bunkering.

They further disclosed that some Naval officers allegedly raped some housewives and tortured people.

On account of this, the youths decidd to put an end to the inhuman treatment meted out to them.

The intervention of Radid Response Squad and Civil Defence Officials prevented what would have resulted into a more bloody situation.

Meanwhile, more than twenty youths have been wounded while properties worth millions of Naira have been destroyed.
