Lagos State Governor, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode, has approved Friday, June 12th, 2015, as a work free day in the state.
This was contained in a circular issued yesterday by the Head of Service, Mrs. Shade Jaji, to all ministries, departments and agencies of the government.
It reads: “Towards the entrenchment of democratic ideals in Nigeria and in commemoration of June 12, 1993 as significant day to Nigerians, Governor. Akinwunmi Ambode, of Lagos State has graciously approved Friday, June 12th, 2015 as a work free day.
The 22nd anniversary of the annulment of the June 12 election worn by the late Chief Moshood Kashimawo Abiola would be celebrated in the state with a public lecture slated to hold at the Blueroof of the Lagos State Television with the theme “Sustainability of Democratic Values, the Nigerian Experience’.
The governor further enjoined public servants in the state to attend events organized by various arms of government in commemoration of the day.
