LASG encourages proper investment in education

The Lagos State Government is determined to ensure education is given adequate attention by ensuring proper investment in the sector.

Deputy Governor, Oluranti Adebule who made this known, at this Year’s World Teachers’ Day Celebration in Lagos, said government recognised that a vibrant education sector was key to the success of any economy and administration.

Adebule said the present administration would continue to empower teachers through capacity building to equip them for the challenges ahead.

Adebule said in order to address dearth of teachers in public schools, government had concluded plans to recruit one thousand three hundred teachers, urging teacher to recommit themselves and be dedicated to duty.

Also speaking at the occasion, Head of Service, Folashade Jaji, charged the teachers to retrace their steps and work towards restoring the glory of the teaching profession.
