Microsoft, Diamond Bank, Main One, Others Give Business Support to Over 6,000 Small Businesses

With the pace small businesses are growing all around the world, technology has been described as unavoidable tool that will continue to make small businesses create sustainable development to the vital growth of the society.

As part of efforts to simplify the way businesses are being conducted in this knowledge-driven age, Microsoft Nigeria, an organisation that enables people and businesses throughout the world to realize their full potential, in partnership with Diamond Bank, Enterprise Development Centre of Lagos Business School, and Main One have given over 6000 Nigerian SMEs with free Office 365 Business Premium Licenses (5 User Licenses) for 6 months to support small business owners and increase their productivity at work.

The program brought other major companies together to provide support that include provision of free Internet by MainOne; WhogoHost providing one year hosting and Diamond Bank helped with opening of corporate account.

Speaking during the program, the Head of Emerging Business, Diamond Bank PLC, Njideka Esumeju said that the intention of the program is to give insight on how to use technology to improve business for small business owners.

According to her, Esumeju said that she uses some of the Microsoft products at the office which allow her work to be easier and faster.

“Most of these technologies have helped us in a lot of ways with our apps to simplify the way we do businesses.”

She also said that now that the country oil production is dwindling, people need not to rely on big organisations to provide all what the nation needs to succeed but small organisations also, to provide what the society needs.

Taking his time to explain the significance of “Office 365 Business Premium License” to the small business owners at the program,  the EPG Solution Sales Lead at Microsoft, Femi George said that technology is now virtually infused to how work is being done at homes and offices.

George said that the product captures the ideas of small business owners to run an effective small business using a keyboard, pen, or a touchscreen, it also easily allows formation of information in excel with tools that recognize business pattern and autocomplete data.

He also mentioned that the product also allow easy incorporate content from PDFs to create own great-looking word documents and design customized marketing materials that fit brands and customers.

He further explained that the product works on Personal Computers, Macs, Windows tablets, iPad and Android, tablets, and most mobile devices, and can be installed on 5 PCs or Macs, 5 tablets Windows, iPad, and Android), and 5 phones.
