Ministry of Environment Partners UNDP Nigeria Deforestation & Policy Measures

Dept. Of Forestry at the Federal Ministry of Environment in Partnership with UNDP Nigeria held a “Validation workshop on Integrated Analyses for REDD+ Strategy for ‪#‎Nigeria‬.

The workshop was aimed at Increasing stakeholder ownership of the National Framework Strategy & Cross River State REDD+ Strategy devt process. The REDD+ Strategy is an opportunity for #Nigeria to bring transformational & systemic change to forest management & protection.

The event was a unique opportunity to discuss key drivers of deforestation & policy measures to address them accordingly through ‪#‎REDD‬+ Strategy.

In Nigeria, Cross River for instance holds the highest amount of remaining forests & is a major national asset & biodiversity hotspot for Nigeria.
