The National Assembly is seeking alignment of strategies with CSOs and stakeholders and has called for a “budget owned by Nigerians”.
A recent release made it clear that the President of the Senate, Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki and Speaker of House Of Representatives Rt, Honorable Yakubu Dogara are set to meet with civil society organizations (CSOs) and non-governmental organizations (NGOs) next week.
The aim of this meeting is to afford civil society and non-governmental organizations an opportunity to contribute their ideas, perspectives, inputs and strategies to that of the National Assembly, in order to pass a budget that Nigerians can call their own.
In an invitation from the Office of the Senate President, the vision of this initiative is also to promote inclusiveness and implement an open and transparent National Assembly as set out in the legislative agenda of the 8th Senate.
Particpating CSOs and NGOs have been asked to forward submissions to i.onah@senatepresident.gov.ng.
Additionally, organizations that may wish to participate physically in this exercise are encouraged to indicate their organization, full name(s) and phone numbers of representatives of their organization that would be attending the meeting in the body of the emails.
