National Strategic Plan of Action for Nutrition necessary for better health – Nutrition Experts

Nutrition Experts have called on the federal government to implement the National Strategic Plan of Action for Nutrition, NSPAN, twenty-fourteen to twenty-nineteen, at all levels of government, with emphasis on maternal and child nutrition.

The experts made the plea at the forty-fifth Annual General Meeting and Scientific Conference of the Nutrition Society of Nigeria held in Lagos.

They also called for Budgetary allocation and timely release of funds for maternal and child nutrition and its intervention at the national, state and local government levels.

President, Nutrition Society of Nigeria, Ngozi Nnam, urged both the Federal government and other state governments to emulate Lagos State government by extending maternity leave to six months from the current three months and encourage exclusive.
