NGO wants FG to advance research in herbal medicine

A Non-Governmental Organisation, M&G International Research Institute has urged Federal Government to intensify efforts in advancing research on herbal medicine to improve the quality of life of Nigerians.
The Founder of the NGO, Dr Grace Martin, gave the advice in an interview recently.
She said that the NGO has conducted researches and come up with innovative products in teas and syrups that are multi-utility and useful in treating and curing diverse illnesses and complications without any side effect.
“Our research initiatives have been overwhelmingly successful, giving birth to innovative products in teas and syrups that are multi-utility and useful in treating and curing diverse illnesses and complications without any side effect.
“Our key objectives are to go into mass production, mass employment, network marketing and large scale distribution of natural foods and medicines, vitamins and minerals.’’
Martin added that the pilot products of the NGO had been distributed to many African countries for the treatment of malaria, tuberculosis, among others.
She expressed the continued commitment of the organisation to embark on research projects for the production of biomedical medicine for the improvement of ‘the quality of life of mankind.’
Urging the Federal Government to intensify efforts at educating the people on the benefits and use of natural and nutritional therapy, she added that the efforts would boost the realisation of the long-expected integrated medical practice policy in the country.
