The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has named its Deputy National Chairman (South), Elder Yemi Akinwonmi, as the Acting National Chairman.
This was after the Rivers State High Court stopped the former National Chairman, Uche Secondus from parading himself as the Chairman and also as member of the party.
Making this known on Thursday, was the Party’s Spokesman, Kola Ologbondiyan, who confirmed the news to reporters.
After a closed-door meeting of the National Working Committee in Abuja on Thursday, Akinwonmi was confirmed as the National Chairman.
He stated that the party’s National Executive Council (NEC) meeting has been rescheduled for Saturday.
Ologbondiyan said “Elder Yemi Akinwonmi was unanimously affirmed as Acting National Chairman.
“We will be holding our caucus and another NWC meeting tomorrow preparatory to holding our National Executive Council meeting at 12 ‘O’clock on Saturday”, he concluded.
