The Social Innovators Programme and Awards (SIPA) recognizes innovative youth with ideas and initiatives that offer creative solutions to social challenges in local communities across Nigeria. 20 Nigerian changemakers identified by LEAP Africa have been in a one year fellowship -Social Innovators Programme redesigned in partnership with International Youth Foundation’s YouthActionNet® (YAN).
This unique programme brings together business professionals, educators and social entrepreneurs to share their expertise with a focus on developing these change agents, equipping them to lead and increase the impact of their initiatives.
The 20 fellows have wide range of initiatives:- Opeyemi ADESEKO, Founder, Environmentalist Coterie; Vweta ARIEMUGBOVBE, Founder, Empowering Women of the Future (EWOF); Abiodun ODUNUGA, Founder, Business Management Conference; Bunmi OTEGBADE, Founder, Generation Enterprise (GEN); Princess DAVIES, Founder, Life and Chess Club (LACC); Olayinka ADEGOKE, Founder, Youth Excel Initiative; Jackson OJODOMO, Founder, Initiative for Youths with Disabilities Empowerment and Advancement (IYDEA); Chinwe NWOSU, Founder, Laurel Personality Development (LDP); Ayomide AJUMOBI, Founder, Community Development Catalyst (CDC); Philip Etaba OBAJI, Founder, 1 GAME Campaign; Tayo OLUFUWA, Founder, Jobs in Nigeria (JIN); Ayoola AJEBEKU, Founder, Nearest Locator; Yomi ADETULA, Founder, Trinity Internet Services; Ogirinye ADOGA , Founder, Youth Initiative for Sustainable Agriculture (YISA); Michael IYANRO, Founder, Rural Health Access Initiative (RHAI); Ibrahim ADEDEJI, Founder, Youth and AIDS; Ibironke ODEWALE, Founder, Nigerian Diabetes Online Community; Otto ORONDAAM, Founder, Slum2School Africa; Olufunbi FALAYI, Founder, Project 4; Garba Douglas SABO, Founder, Kaduna Youth Forum
Some of the highlights of this events is announcing 10 outstanding fellows will be awarded as the 2013 Social Innovators Finalist and would receive support to take their initiative further; induction of emerging social entreprenuers into the new fellowship year amongst others.
