South West Under 18 Karate Championship berths in Lagos

As part of the effort to develop the game of Karate, the Lagos State Karate Association will today organise a one-day event tagged South West Under 18 Karate Championship.

The championship sponsored by Uptimum Impact Company, is to improve the standard of karate and young karatekas in the south-west region and as well as giving the junior athletes an opportunity to learn from the seniors.

The one day event, which will hold at the Mobolaji Johnson Indoor Hall of Lagos State Sports Commission, Rowe Park, Yuba, will feature about 152 athletes from Lagos, Ogun, Osun, Ondo, Ekiti and Oyo States in three categories; Kata junior category, Kumute Junior category and Kumute senior  in the male and female categories.

The organizers say outstanding karatekas will be given prizes, while all athletes will receive certificates of participation.
