National Leader of the All Progressives Congress, APC, and former Lagos State Governor, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu has charged Nigerians to be sacrificial in the face of economic recession.
Tinubu made this remark at the investiture of the president of Chartered Institute of Stockbrokers’ Mr. Oluwaseyi Emmanuel Abe.
Noting that Nigeria is blessed with both human and natural resources, he said that the country will soon come out of recession if the resources are properly harnessed.
The APC leader also spoke on the significance of electricity in driving economic development. He recalled how Lagos State invested in private power project to generate electricity during his time as governor.
Also speaking at the event, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, said the country should rely on taxes and not oil, arguing that Nigeria’s problem is addiction to oil revenues.
