United Bank for Africa (UBA) has rewarded 20 of its customers, who emerged winners of its Remittance “Awoof” Promo. The reward is part of efforts at promoting savings culture among customers.
The reward covers a sponsored trip to Dubai. Sixty others won consolidated prizes such as generator sets, water dispensers and rechargeable fans.
The winners emerged at the electronic selection exercise, which took place at the UBA Head Office, in Lagos, at the weekend.
Over 80 prospective winners emerged from the promo, which said, over 60 other winners going home with a consolidation prize of 20 generator sets, 20 rechargeable fans and 20 water dispensers for their patronage of Western Union and MoneyGram, while the mega rewards were given to 20 others with three days all expense paid trip to Dubai.
The Head, Retail Branding and Communications, UBA, Ikemefuna Mordi, explained that the scheme was institute by the bank to encourage savings culture in the mass market segment.
According to him, “our customers are the reason why UBA exists and as a Bank that is committed to continually satisfy their needs, the remittance “Awoof” promo is to further show appreciation to existing and potentials customer by expanding the reward opportunities that the promo offers them.
“We are doing something that is unique, in the sense that we are stepping out of the usual dynamic to rewards and acknowledge our esteemed customers. We are the only bank that acknowledges our customers in terms of remittance for Western Union and MoneyGram,” he said.
Continuing, he said, “we want to transform and impact the life of our customers, we have always seen our customers as the most valuable persons you will ever have in any ways. UBA is not just encourage customers to save, but we are also rewarding customers for choosing us since they have other options.”
