‘Unemployment rates in Nigeria is an eyesore’ – 2Face

Popular African R and B singer, Innocent Idibia, popularly known 2Face Idibia has described the joblessness among the Nigerian youths in the country as a big eyesore considering the wealth the country is blessed with.

2Face made this known at the One Voice Peace Concert, a program organized by Enough is Enough and 2Face Foundation to promote ideal of peace and unity in the country.

Idibia said that the future of Nigeria has been squandered in the last 10 to 20 years due to bad leadership and wrong policies this country had had in the past.

According to hem “Our generation has lost a lot, our parents told us a lot of goodies they had when they were growing up has things were working at their own time but what happen, why can’t all these things still continues”

“Because of the way our society was squandered, many youths were left hanging, they finish school they had no jobs and other things they should have had”

2Face said that part of the intention of the peace concert is to create peaceful bound among the young people is to enter their mind to get them engage.

Also speaking on the peace concert, the Founder of Enough is Enough, Yemi Adamolekun said that part of the messages during the pre-election concert was nonviolence and there is need to do a post-election concert to celebrate the peaceful election.

“The election was not as bad as people taught it could have been, we taught that it was worth celebrating and that is why we are here to celebrate with all these artists.

Adamolekun urged the citizens not to relax after the election, “Once the election is over the next thing to do is to hold government officials accountable and that is part of sharing the concept of office of the citizen which says that the citizens are the highest office holder in the land and to hold the officials they have elected accountable”, he urged.

She revealed further that the artists are not charging for the concert their commercial rates, “if they charging us their commercial rate there is no way we can afford it”, she explained.

The Social Entrepreneur said that the reason why they have to use this platform is because young people respond to entertainment.

“Just imagine the way people react when 2face go on the stage”

She said that most of the EiE projects will focus on office of the citizens to ensure that the citizens are properly engage.
