Following an advert that is going viral on the social media inviting the popular Fuji musician, Alhaji Wasiu Alabi, also known as Pasuma to attend a three-day outdoor crusade organized by The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), 43 Martins Street, Opposite Central Mosque, Oluwole, Lagos, one of the unit heads in the church who preferred to be called Pastor Mike spoke to our correspondent via telephone interview has said that the intention of inviting Pasuma to the crusade was not to invite him to sing at the crusade perform.

“We were not inviting Pasuma to come and minister in the crusade, we were just inviting him to show up and through him coming, his personality will bring these touts to the crusade knowing the kind of environment our church is located, most of them will come and give their life to Christ”, he explained.

He explained further that the church has not printed the flier for the crusade “we only told someone to do the design for us to present it to Province 20 for approval, it was through the person that design it that it went viral on the social media.”

Pastor Mike said that the Province in charge of the church has suspended the program and suspended the committee that is in charge of the program which he is also a member.

When asked if they have contacted Pasuma to grace the revival, he said that they have gotten in touch with him and Pasuma has volunteered to attend the event and to ensure that the touts attend the revival.

He also clarified the gifts items that they want to give to participants at the crusade, Pastor Mike said that they have intention to buy tricycle, flat screen television, generators, motorcycles and other gifts that will be given to them as empowerment to help them live a better life and to enhance their businesses but none of these item has been bought because the program has not been approved by Province 20.

Pastor Mike who was apologetic in his statements urged those who might have seen the image on social media to forgive them as it was not intentional to do the program but propagate the gospel and to win souls unto Christ.

Meanwhile, the leadership of RCCG Headquarter on its Twitter handle has disassociated the church from the program, “Please disregard the information, it was misconstrue advert not a program for the church thank you.”
