Three traditional rulers in Yobe state have been suspended by the Gujba Emirate Council of the state for diverting food materials meant for IDPs camps in the state.
This is according to a letter signed by the secretary of Gujba Emirate Council, Mohammed Ali Yusuf served on two Village Head of Hausari, Lawan Alhaji Hassan, the village Head of Ngomari, Lawan Ngawari and the Sarkin Fulani of Gujba Alhaji Haro.
In the letters, the emirate gave the reason for suspending the monarchs as nonchalant attitude, indiscipline and breach of trust in the handling of food materials meant for the IDPs in Buni Yadi.
“The Emirate Council has expressed dismay over your misconduct and has future directed me to inform you that you have been suspended from your post.
“In view of the above, you are therefore directed to keep away from the Emirate activities for the period of one month, pending the outcome of the Emirate Council meeting and subsequent resolution please,” the letters read.
