The Global Shapers is an initiative of the World Economic Forum, and consists of young people doing exceptional services around community building and development.
The Abuja Hub of the Global Shapers Community recently signed a grant agreement for US $45,000 towards the implementation of the project titled: ‘Amana Inititative: Promoting Mutual Understanding and Confidence Building between Northern Nigeria Youth, the Police and the Security Agencies of Government’
The project will focus on awarding grants to youth-led organizations for projects which seek to improve confidence building and understanding between the youth, law enforcement agencies and elected government officials in Boko Haram affected states of Northern Nigeria.
We hope to receive proposals from youth groups and NGOS in the North who are able to come up with brilliant project ideas. These projects could take any number of forms, including town-hall meetings and discussions; athletic competitions; theatrical productions; anti-terrorism campaigns, policy dialogues, among other activities designed to promote mutual understanding and confidence building.
The project is sponsored by the US Embassy in Nigeria.
